The All Region clinic turned out pretty much how I expected. At 6, my dad sent me to Renner, but it turns out that its really far and the traffic sucks, so I ended up a few minutes late. :( But that night was still ok. Our director, Gabriel Musella, was this Arabian Muslimish guy. Quote from someone I know: "He looks like a terrorist." He said it, not me. So we sat and played for 3 hours. My butt still hurts from just the memory of it TT_TT
The next day, we had ANOTHER clinic. ALL DAY LONG. I laboriously dragged myself out of bed at 7 am, which is just not right, especially on a Saturday. My dad was also pissed at me for waking him up so early, so he spouted some of my PRIVATE INFORMATION to my di di*, Aaron. MEANIE. HOW HUMILIATING.
We played for another 3 hours. They freaking skipped our break! Our break! It was skipped! Unless standing up and stretching for less than a minute after 1 and a half hours equals "a break". Jeez.
We got to play some interesting pieces:
March of the Bucaneer, a flute feature. The guy who wrote this needs a better title. How in your mind does pretty, nice, high, girly, coughcough i mean, feminine, fantastical flute = roaring, rum-drinking, sword-bearing, pistol shooting, eyepatchy, Jack Sparrow pirate? o.O
Dancing the Skies. Our director kept calling it Dancing with the Stars. Or Dancing in the Rain.
Cinematic Scenes of a Civil War Tune. Mr. Musella actually wrote this piece, and we would be the first people to play it, ever. Pretty cool, huh? Hope I didnt fail. Too badly.
For lunch, after THREE HOURS of endless sitting, the Rice Wind Symphony kids(me!) walked across the field to Plano West High School, where the other All Regions bands (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic, and Concert) practiced. It was drizzling. Fun. We had Domino's Pizza in the cafeteria. (IT'S SO NOT FAIR ROBINSON MS GOT TO GO TO THE MALL TO EAT LUNCH. NOT FAAIIIIIIRRRR. :'( But then again, if all the Rice kids went, we'd need three buses, and they weren't about to spend that much money on US. Proves just how awesome we are again.)
Some interesting things happened at lunch:
~Rosalind and I ate with Yang, Buggy (Michael Wang #2. Yes, our school has like three Michael Wangs), and Alex. We watched them engage in an iTouch app conversation. Free app of the day, apps about various games for nerds, more apps, TapTap apps, more apps, apps, apps, apps. Wut? They are such iTouch app geeks. It's so cool. I wanna be an iTouch app geek. XD
~Hung out with some sevvies (seventh graders). The sevvies were cool, because THEY HAD NINTENDO DS's! I'M SERIOUS. THEY DIDNT HAVE ITOUCH. THEY HAD DS! You guys are my heroes! Way to be different!
~After lunch, we still had time left before rehearsals started again, so the whole maroon mob of Rice kids stampeded into the courtyard. It rained. So what did we do? We put up our hoods and took gangstah pictures. And danced.
~Rosy and I stole Buggy's iPhone, and snuck on facebook. But Kevin stole it back to play a Physics game. NERD, LOL.
~Andrea and Pearl in an epic tennis match. At the end of it, their hands were purple and Andrea's hands had little red dots on it. Her blood vessels ruptured. By tennis, I mean the hand slapping game, of course. ;P
~Ran back to Renner because we thought we were 10 minutes late. Got there and found the place empty. Turns out we were 20 minutes early. Fail. (-____________-)
We rehearsed for THREE MORE HOURS. My butt still hurts thinking about it. Then we had 3 hours until we performed, so everyone walked back to Plano West IN THE RAIN to drop off our stuff and just wreak havoc. After we dropped our formal clothes, music, instrument, etc. off, I met up with Rosy, and we ran around until her performance time. Then Aaron, Yang, and I ran around some more in the halls, acting like imbeciles. But, hey, it was better than hanging out in the storage room, where there was a whole circle of ITOUCH ADDICTS. REALLY.
I changed, ran around some more, put my awesome thing tie from Hot Topic on Aaron, ran around some more, Aaron took it off cuz he thought it was too "womanly" (TELL ME, AARON, WHERE WILL YOU EVER FIND A BETTER TIE THAN MINE), gave it to Amy to use as a belt cuz her pants were falling off (it was a lucky tie, and she had a solo too, so lucky tie + solo + using it as a belt = SHE DID NOT FAIL. 8D), watching Symphonic band play, blah blah blah...
Then we played. Mrs. Ball (HAHA, BALL) called us the Wind Ensemble, lol. I kinda failed, but then everyone says that, so you can ignore me (even though I really did TT_TT). The whole thing was still pretty fun, tho.
THEN, after the concert, it was still only 7:30 or so, so I went to my friend Hershey's birthday party. where I found them all texting and PLAYING ON THEIR ITOUCHES. WHY OH, WHY DOES EVERYONE BUT ME HAVE AN ITOUCH/IPHONE? I ate some cheesecake, then some really good pizza (Barbecue something, from Pizza Hut? I must remember that), then some more cake, and then candy. No, Helena, there is nothing wrong with your eating order at all.
HERSHEY'S LITTLE BROTHER, RITVIK. OMFG SO CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTE!. He was such a cute little gentlemanly boy! He brought me pizza, cake, and then even asked if I wanted anything else, just like a little waiter!! I felt so rich X3 I dont know if he was sucking up to me or something, but I was totally falling for it. And the best part is, we're birthday buddies! Yes, we have the same birthday, September 8th! So next year, I'm just gonna celebrate it with them at their house or something. xD
Other cool stuff happened at the party too:
~talked to Ritvik while Hershey and Co. were immersed in this iTouch app game. Surviving High School. Once again, APPS.
~beat everyone's score at the toilet paper unrolling game (7 seconds!), but died in three seconds on the water slide game. It just cracks me up how at All Region, everyone was playing mind games, like physics, sudoku, spelling, etc. while at the party of less intellectual people like me, we lost ourselves in great mindless games like seeing how fast you can unroll a toilet paper roll. xD
~looked up all the awkward scenes in Breaking Dawn, and read them out loud.
~worked out with QianQian on a bike thing. FUN. But ouch, I banged my knee on it. There's a bruise XD
~also got obsessed with the Surviving High School app, which Hershey was playing ALL NIGHT LONG, I BET. But the standards sucked. I mean, if the person got a GPA of over 3.0, HE GOT A FREAKING CAR. HOW UN-ASIAN.
When I got home, I was like, oh crap, Chinese school tomorrow.
And I went there today. It was like usual. We messed around alot. We got a new Chinese teacher too. She seemed nice enough. A whole TON of homework though.
Then, Geometry. Ah, I LOVE our math class. We are so retarded, namely me, Juanne, and Winson. We're the only ones left from the good old days with Nancy where we would hide the board and homework and clock and eat a whole bunch of candy and get into lots of good natured trouble. Our teacher, Neil, is awesome too, though we keep on changing teachers every semester. I think Winson scares them away. Neil forgot about our class today. He said it was communication problems, haha.
Fun.
Then I FINALLY met up with my accompanist for Solo & Ensemble. About time, the contest is in a week. I'm so screwed.
* di di=little brother in Chinese. Of course, Aaron isn't literally my little brother. It's just an azn thing.
THIS POST TOOK ME TWO HOURS TO WRITE, WTF.
SCRATCH THAT, IT TOOK ME THREE HOURS.
